Artist Biographies

Pianist Linda Mark is a staff accompanist at The Juilliard School and a member of the New York Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble. She won first prize in the Baldwin Piano Competition and two Grand Prizes at the International Recording Competition in Austin, Texas. She regularly performs with flutists Julius Baker, Jeanne Baxtresser and Carol Wincenc, and recently recorded solo piano works for the soundtrack of the film Letter Without Words.

Jonathan Spitz is principal cellist of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, American Ballet Theatre, Bard Festival, and Solisti New York Orchestra, and co-principal of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. An active chamber musician, Mr. Spitz is a founding member of the Leonardo Trio. A graduate of the Curtis Institute, Mr. Spitz studied with David Soyer, Mischa Schneider, Gerald Beal and Felix Galimir. He has recorded for Telarc, Nonesuch, Delos, CRI and New World.

Harpsichordist Robert Wolinsky is a member of the St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble/Orchestra of St. Luke’s, with whom he has toured and recorded extensively. For the past four New Year’s Eves he has performed Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos with Bargemusic on live NPR broadcasts. He also performs with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, New York Philomusica and at the Caramoor, Bridgehampton and Angel Fire summer festivals.

Robert Maggio studied composition at Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania. He has been awarded fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and is currently on the faculty of West Chester University. His music can also be heard on the CRI label.

Stanley Friedman holds a doctorate in composition from the Eastman School of Music. His works have been performed by the New Zealand Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Chamber Music Society and the Ensemble Intercontemporain, among others. He teaches trumpet at the Interlochen Arts Academy. More extensive information may be found at
